General Santos City is famous because of its product "tuna" , but somewhere in this place hides a hero, this hero we were talking about is not a human, nor an animal, but unusually, it is a plant, a tree, it is called mangrove, "bakawan" in tagalog. 
It is found at the east part of Gensan named "Purok Asinan, Brgy. Buayan" as shown on the picture at the left side. The place was named after the occupation of the people living there, "asinan" means "a place where salt is bieng made". Since Purok Asinan is a coastal place, the people there found making salt a good occupation.
Mangrove trees prevent floods and provide shelter for some organisms. This project was focused not only in the beauty of Mangroves but on its purpose to the people.
